Donation Terms and Conditions

Illuminating Humankindness (“IHK”) is a 501C3 non-profit private foundation located in Seattle, Washington, USA. We operate the website https://www.kindheartedpower.org (“Website”).

These Terms and Conditions apply separately to each single donation that you make. Except as provided for in Section 5, below ”Monthly Donations,” and unless specified by you, they do not form a contract allowing for future or successive transactions. By confirming on the Website that you wish to donate, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

(1) The Donation

We will use your donation at our discretion but within our stated charitable objectives to further our mission to spark the Kindhearted Power, Imagination, and Wonder that promotes Human Flourishing.

Our payment card processor, Stripe, securely processes all payments through the Website. IHK does not retain your credit card information, and Stripe will make reasonable efforts to provide security appropriate to the risk associated with processing your credit card information. Stripe maintains organizational, technical, and administrative measures designed to protect Personal Data covered by this Policy against unauthorized access, destruction, loss, alteration, or misuse.

Once you confirm through the Website that you'd like to proceed with your donation, your transaction will be processed through our payment services provider, Stripe. You can authorize Stripe to process your donation from your credit or debit card provider by completing your transaction at the shopping cart checkout on our website.

(5) Recurring Monthly Donations

These Donation Payment Terms and Conditions will only apply to successive donations made through the Website where you have set up a recurring monthly donation. When you set up a recurring monthly donation, your recurring donation will be made on the same day of the month you proceeded with your first donation. You agree that these Terms and Conditions will apply to each donation in that series.

By confirming that you'd like to proceed with a monthly donation, you can authorize our payment service provider, Stripe, to request funds from your credit or debit card. To cancel your recurring donation, please get in touch with us at imagination@kindheartedpower.org.

(6) Charitable Deductions and Gifts Received in Return

We sincerely appreciate your generous support and the commitment you've shown to our cause. We want to address a common question regarding charitable deductions and gifts received in return for donations.

According to the IRS guidelines, you can claim a charitable deduction for your donation, even if you receive a gift in return. However, the value of the gift you receive must be subtracted from your donation amount when calculating the deduction. The fair market value of our gifts and premiums are listed on our website for your convenience.

For example, if you donate $100 and receive a gift with a fair market value of $20, you can claim a charitable deduction of $80. Please consult with your personal tax professional or advisor to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.

We hope this information helps clear up any potential confusion for you. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns. Thank you once again for your invaluable support.

(7) General

These Donation Payment Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws in the State of Washington, USA, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of King County, Washington, USA.
